World Environment Day (WED) is one of the biggest events
conducted by the United nation worldwide on 5th June to raise awareness among
peoples for the protection of the environment. Currently, our planet is facing
several environmental problems like air pollution, water pollution, soil
pollution, global warming, climate change, extinct of species, electronic
waste, ozone depletion, and many more.
Do you know? “Who is responsible for the bad condition of
our planet?” you may feel surprised if you get to know the answer to this
question. We “Human” & our so-called development are responsible for the
devastating condition of our planet. Earth has given us everything to survive
but what we have given back in return to earth. What I feel is, we gave nothing
except problems to the earth and if we continue the same in the future, we
would become the cause for the destruction of this planet.

In the year 1972, the origin of international environment
politics came into existence. Before 1972, the entire world was witnessing the
ill effects of plastic bags use and after watching such a disaster, the world
became serious to think about the environment. The first meeting was held in
the UN in the year 1972 in Stockholm (Sweden). This conference was called the Stockholm conference and the main purpose of this meeting was to find out the
solutions to address the challenge of preserving and enhancing the human
environment. The first world environment day was organized in the year 1974 and
the theme was “only one earth” and after this, every year the UN organizes the
world environment day.

addition in the list of extinct species and that will be humans only.
